stop and smell the flowersWe like to wake up with the sun some Saturday mornings and walk a few blocks to  the Farmers Market. We always enjoy the sounds, smells and all the bursts of color and aromas  from the fresh organic produce, and food vendors. Of course the interesting people and their often precocious and exuberant  pups are always a highlight of the stroll. There is something wondrous about watching expressions and interactions of people as they explore and experience an event, as well as  their pooches. And we ALWAYS have our camera with, ready and shooting!

Stop and smell the flowers. We are all familiar with its meaning, which is, to take time to appreciate a situation or slow down and pay attention to what is going on around you. Although a widely used cliché how many of us actually take the time to notice our lives? To basque in it’s beauty, or to sit quietly with an experience that enters our day?

We are continually stimulated by a barrage of sounds, sights, smells and energy flow that can become a big blur or become a tantalizing playground of sensations depending on the way we respond to it all. As a big advocate for trying to live moment by moment and embracing each “now”, we will often just stop, sit and breath at many intervals throughout each day. We love to get sensory with it, and it is always great when we notice the extra vibrancy things project when one truly notices and experiences all that comes into ones moment! The birds sing louder, the flowers vibrate with sensational new colours, and the whole energy flow of existence penetrates every cell.

Go ahead… give it a whirl. Stop, sit and breathe in the flowers, and every amazing thing that dances  with you in your life experience. Become awake and enjoy!

Each year I am compelled to usher in the season of spring with some Vivaldi. There is something about the awakening of the flowers and the continual song of birds that reminds me to take a moment to take in the freshness of the air. There is beauty all around us and the more time we take to recognize it and to experience it the more it calms the soul and invigorates the spirit.

It is a time for new beginnings, a time for planting new seeds, and for rekindling our zest for life. Spring is here, so go outside, visit the beach, walk in a field of flowers, sit under a clear crisp nights sky after a new rain and become still in your moment. Relax once in a while this season and just be. Release the past years triumphs and tragedies  and welcome in the new experiences that life is presenting. Allow yourself to be at ease.

Let yourself rivel in the freshness of the season and allow it to rekindle your zest for life. Live in harmony with the cycles of the earth, they are the cycles of your life too. In the spring the earth is awakening after the long slumber of winter. Soon the day will be bright and new just like the summer and upon it’s end comes the evening of autumn and the long sleep of winter again. Let nature reveal its beauty in your daily life as you yawn and stretch your arms to welcome back the sun.

Spring is here… let it in.

Spring-Continuity-of-life

It’s the beginning of a new month. It’s the beginning of a new season. It’s the beginning of a new day. It was a full moon and on the next it will be the beginning of spring.

During the waning period of the lunar cycle it is a time of reflection and a time to prepare for the coming of the new. A letting go of the past as the light from the moon fades in preparation for the equinox.

The cycles of life interact and meld together so beautifully when engaged in the perpetual ebb and flow of it. As spring begins to blossom all around us and the seeds are planted in the field, we till the soil of our life and plant our own seed for the coming season. We reach forward with intention and begin to create the world we choose to live in.

So notice the changes all around you. Begin to look at your days as individual moments where you blossom and fulfill your desires. Spring is coming, set a goal, plant a seed, and take time to stop and smell the flowers.

COL’s new home.

We’ve Moved!

Continuity of Life has moved into our new office. We’re still setting things up but soon we will be offering our classes, readings, and circles from this beautiful 1924 Cottage in the heart of Downtown Sarasota, FL. We’ve been spending time painting, and getting things ready for your visit.

We found this little place conveniently located and with easy access to anywhere in Sarasota. Our down town address puts us within walking access of the Rosemary District, Burns Court, Pineapple District, and Bayfront Park! We look forward to getting to know Sarasota more intimately. Just around the corner from us is the Sarasota Film Festivals offices and the Student Facility for Florida Studio Theater. Students walk by us singing and rehearsing their parts all day long.

We’re not taking walk-ins just yet, but soon we will be opening up our porch for readings.

We’ll keep you posted!

Please email us and let us know if you have any special interests and ideas for classes or workshops. We are always looking for new and beneficial ways to connect .

What you put out to the universe, the universe gives back to you.

If you spend all of your time focusing on negative outcomes, negative outcome is all you will see. This is the biggest problem we face today. I could go on for hours on this topic alone, but as I know many are of the mindset that nothing good is to come of the “state of the world” as they see it, then all they will see is that state of the world diminishing into the oblivion that they expect it to.

I see multitudes of positive changes happening around the world. I see people coming together and attaining peace and prosperity. I see light and love manifesting on mass. I see the vail thinning and I see the transition happening. Just as the Maya predicted, I see the manifestation of a shift in consciousness happening, and I see this transition happening right on schedule.

Read some Eckhart Tolle, listen to some Abraham Hicks, read the Bhagavad Gita, the teachings of Ghandi… focus on the good in the world and get out of the mindset that the world is a horrible place and you will begin to see the change which IS happening in the world.

People are not seeing the change because they are expecting someone else to change the world for them instead of changing their world for themselves.

Each of you are a powerful creator… create your world from a better place, and become the change you wish to see in the world.

Personal responsibility begins with self.

If you want to live in the light, step out of the darkness.

Why Lily’s?

Throughout history humanity has regarded the flower with great reverance and respect.

The flower, as a symbol, provides us with an understanding of beauty in all of its forms. The beauty of the flower seems to hold no purpose for us, aside from attraction. We are drawn to them as a moth to the flame. We bend down and are refreshed spiritually when we inhale the sweet perfume.

Tolle says, “Seeing beauty in a flower could awaken humans, however briefly, to the beauty that is an essential part of their own innermost being, their true nature.”  The buddha held his sinlent sermon by simply holding up a flower… this simple concept of recognizing beauty is a powerful affirmation of our recognition of our own inner beauty and light.

The process of awakening is much like the growth cycle of the flower. The seed is planted, the idea grows and once it reaches maturity the beauty is abundant and the soul spreads its petals and adds its own rare and precious beauty to the world. People are drawn to the awakened much as they are drawn to the flowers in a field.

We see them in the distance and feel an urge to catch a whiff of their essence, we bring them home to experience their continued fragrance much in the way we bring spiritual teaching into our dwellings. Once “at home” with them we consume their beauty, their fragrance… more over their spiritual essence and make it our own. Once we do this, we are changed forever and their beauty inspires us to flourish on our own and nurture our seed.

The lily is an important symbol of spiritual communication and the transition to the spirit realm.

Variety…

They say it is the spice of life. So I wonder?

With such beauty all over the world. It is amazing that people don’t see it every day. There is a spectrum of colors that resonates outside our body which is just as vibrant as any. Reaching from the infrared to the ultraviolet the Aura contains all the colors of the rainbow. Our souls energy reaches well beyond our bodies confines, we can sense it when a loved one is near and we can feel it when they have passed on to the realm of spirit.

When we begin to see each other as beings of light and accept the beauty held within… the facade melts away.

There is nothing truly ugly in nature. With such variety and abundance perhaps if we look beyond… we can not only see the beauty in each other, but within ourselves.
