Living Consciously

stillnessWhat does it mean to live consciously?

How is the word conscious defined? Let’s think about the word and it’s applications.

When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self-preservation, we undergo a truly heroic transformation of consciousness.

Joseph Campbell

According to the Merriam Webster and Dictionary.com:

con·scious

adjective \ˈkän(t)-shəs\

: awake and able to understand what is happening around you

: aware of something (such as a fact or feeling) : knowing that something exists or is happening

: known or felt by yourself

noun

the conscious, Psychoanalysis the part of the mind comprising psychic material of which the individual is aware.

So by definition, to live consciously would mean to live your life with purpose, the greater purpose and to be responsible for your thoughts and actions. To be aware that there is a larger self and life is larger than self. Creating spacious and open thinking and living in accordance to what you know to be truth. Be comfy in your own skin and trust and allow your thoughts, your essence and being to evolve and claim their worth. Become an active participant in your moments knowing that there really is nothing beyond the moment you are living in right now. Have the courage to live fully, to experiment, to strive for your passions and be authentic.

Simply live within these five areas of being and you will notice a new energy, a renewed sense of self and an awareness that takes you to a new level of life –
  1. Be present
  2. Be focused
  3. Be an active participant
  4. Be courageous
  5. Be authentic

Grace is not part of consciousness; it is the amount of light in our souls, not knowledge nor reason.

Pope Francis
