As many of you may know by now, Brittany Maynard decided to take medication and end her physical suffering and has died with dignity. Her story of hard choices, pain, love, compassion and courage has inspired and awakened many people. We felt compelled to write about her in this month’s newsletter. Stepping out of the physical and back into spirit is a natural process that we will all get to experience and is a part of life as was birth. Allowing ourselves to embrace this process, for ourselves and others brings a sense of clarity and comfort to many. Live each moment completely and stay focused on all that really matters bringing richness to each day.
From Brittany’s Obituary-
Brittany Lauren Maynard was born in 1984 and forged a brief but solid 29 years of generosity, compassion, education, travel, and humor. Brittany was diagnosed with brain cancer. She was given a terminal diagnosis for which there was no cure or life saving measures available. In the face of such terminal illness and pain, Brittany chose to live each day fully, traveled, and kept as physically active and busy as she possibly could. “Speak your own truth, even when your voice shakes.” she would say. “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If more people all over the world would do this, the world would change.” Brittany chose to make a well thought out and informed choice to Die With Dignity in the face of such a terrible, painful, and incurable illness. she left this world with zero regrets on time spent, places been, or people she loved in her 29 years. “It is people who pause to appreciate life and give thanks who are happiest. If we change our thoughts, we change our world! Love and peace to you all.” – Brittany Maynard
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”- Theodore Roosevelt.

How to Live in Gratitude
Strive toward living a life in which every day is treated as a gift.
Thanksgiving holiday will come and go, but there is no reason why we cannot continue the spirit of Thanksgiving every day. Join us for a heartfelt and informative gathering of reflection and renewal. Living in gratitude unlocks the fullness of life, and is an emotion of connectedness, which reminds us we are part of a larger universe with all living things.
We will enjoy an opening meditation, play a few gratitude games, learn how to shift our priorities, and create meaning and joy everyday in our lives and others. Bring a friend and a happy heart!
